Surgery department of Butaro Hospital is divided into three services which contribute from the entrance to the exit of the patient who is being cared of. Sterilization plays a very important role in IPC (Infection and Prevention Control) just to minimize the risks of the patients. The Operating room hosts different general surgical operations including mastectomy and other cancer related operations. It has also a separate operating room which serves to C-section operations.
