The Department of Obstetrics and gynecology at Butaro hospital is run by a team of registered midwives, registered nurses, intern doctors, general practitioners, and 2 obstetricians and gynecologists.

This multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals is dedicated to meeting the unique and changing medical needs of women of all age from puberty to reproductive age and beyond. We help women to maintain and improve their health status through annual checkups, screening programs, general obstetrical care and specialty care, while advancing and teaching the knowledge and skills of obstetrics to students in clinical rotation.
